| Who are the Vapors? |
We are a U-19 Boys' soccer team from the Vista soccer club. As Vista club
members, we play in the National Capital Soccer League as a travel team. All of
us come from different backgrounds, but share the same passion- the love for
soccer.
We started as a U-16 Boys' house/rec team for BRYC in early 2009. Our original
debut as a team was during this past indoor Winter Season at Fairfax
SportsPlex. From there, we emerged as 1st Place Champions. Soon after, the
Spring 2009 season began, and we took 2nd place in the Suburban Friendship
League Division 1 Tournament. Our last season as a home team was this
summer (2009), where we ended in 1st place for the Dulles SportsPlex Indoor
Division. These victories have helped us to fiercely evolve from a local home
team to a state travel team. Our first official season as a travel team will be this
Fall 2009.
Our dynamic team consists of 17 devoted players, a Head Coach (Juan
Maldonado, Sr.), an Assistant Coach (Cesar Maldonado), and a Team Manager
(Alicia Maldonado).
The popular Nike Vapor cleats became the inspiration to our team's name, and
now as a travel team, we are officially known as the "Vista Vapors".
